Use the same map that the local bike shops are on. If you aren't sure which streets will take you through to your destination, a quick look at the online map may be of help. Of course you can't always see if the road is brick or not. You have to try the route to know for sure. I enjoy exploring new routes. Try the new route this weekend. Check the time it takes to bike to work. It may be faster than you expect. Even new riders find that it only adds a few minutes to the drive. For some the bike will be faster! You get to park very close to the door of your building.

Get your bike ready
You've got a few days (and a weekend) to dust it off, air up, patch or replace flat inner tubes, lube the chain, adjust the brakes, etc. I really like having a rack and saddle bags to put my laptop, lunch, and clean shirt in. I wear a T-shirt while I ride and put the fresh shirt on once I get to the office. A backpack will work.
